A week off.....

So this has been one of those weeks where my sewing has been put to the side, sorta, while I have taken care of my dear children.  They have had the flu! Poor babies!

So, while they have been home with me, my brain is filling with ideas on what to make next. 

Bookmarks entered my brain, not sure why, so I decided to try one out. This slips over the corner

of your book page to mark your place. I made this in about 20 minutes from cutting to pressing to sewing.

This would make a nice little gift for an avid book reader.

Gnomes, gnomes everywhere

Ok, so Jo Ann & I have always had an inside joke about gnomes, trolls, and things of that nature.....So, today I was trying to find some inspiration for a new treasury on Etsy. Then that movie trailer came on the TV for Gnomeo & Juliet, and bam, there was my inspiration!

So, I created this funny little treasury on Etsy ~ one of the items is my absolute favorite, and I think he would look fabulous in my garden this spring!!  Especially if there is a full moon out.....nuff said......see if you can spot my favorite, and come back and comment and let me know yours.

Getting back to creativity!

One of my favorite creativity quotes:

“Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen.” — John Steinbeck

That's so true with the projects we make. It seems like a project starts, and from that another is born and so on and so on.  What's fun to see is how each project takes on a life of its own. 

Here's another great quote:

”Creativity is the quality that you bring to the activity that you are doing. It is an attitude, an inner approach – how you look at things . . . Whatsoever you do, if you do it joyfully, if you do it lovingly, if your act of doing is not purely economical, then it is creative.” –  Osho

My favorite days are those spent creating things just for the fun of it, something for my home, or something for my children, or just a gift for someone special.  I can be completely stressed out and just sitting down and designing something and then watching it come out of my sewing machine as a completed project is so theraputic to me.  My next fun project are some little pink slippers for a couple of funny little girls I recently got to spend some time with. They picked out their fabric from my stash~ they picked pink flannel with puppies on them. One of them told me "as wong as it's pink, I will wuv it, Winda!"  Pink it is!

New Spa Slippers

We're always trying out new ideas and our newest venture are these great spa slippers. They can be personalized for anyone! We have many colors available and we even have a zebra print available.

My son is really into greek mythology, so he had me make him a pair. One foot says 'Cronos' and the other foot says 'Atlas'.  His are made of black faux fur with black fleece on the inside and white writing.

The slippers also come with an optional pocket on the front where a flax seed pouch can be inserted. You can warm the pouch up in the microwave and then put it in the pocket to warm your toes!
